Police: Near Crash Results in DUI, Drug Possession Arrest in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — According to the Franklin Police Department, a 38-year-old Franklin man has been arrested for alleged DUI and drug-related charges following a traffic stop that occurred around 2 a.m. on October 26 in Franklin, Venango County.

Police say William Dale Foster, 38, of Franklin, was stopped after police observed his Dodge Van allegedly cross the double yellow lines and almost crash into oncoming traffic in the 600 block of Grant Street.

Upon making contact with Foster, police allegedly detected the odors of alcohol and Marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.

Foster was arrested transported to the City of Franklin Police Department after allegedly failing to pass Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, say police.

According to police, charges including DUI-General Impairment, DUI-Highest rate of Alcohol, Careless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and multiple counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia will be filed through District Judge Snyder’s office.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled for a later date and time, say police.
