Police: Oil City Woman Faces Charges for Getting Drunk While Caring for Children

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say an Oil City woman is facing charges for consuming a large amount of alcohol while in charge of multiple children.

According to police, on Wednesday, July 10, 50-year-old Lori Lockhart, of Oil City, consumed a large amount of an unknown alcoholic beverage believed to be Vat 69 Scotch Whiskey while looking after five children at Coulter’s Hole along Cranberry Rockland Road.

Police say one of the minors walked away from the scene but made it to his residence in Oil City. A witness at the scene called the Franklin-based State Police to report the incident.

According to police, it was later discovered Lockhart had an active bench warrant and she was taken into custody and transported to the Venango County Jail, based on the warrant.

Police say child endangerment and other related charges will be filed.
