Police Release Details on Emlenton Couple Scammed in Beer Advertising Scheme

LICKING TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police say an Emlenton couple were scammed in a beer advertising scheme.

According to Clarion-based State Police, on July 23, a fraud occurred on Linneman Road, in Licking Township, Clarion County.

The victims responded to an email relating that they would be paid $800.00 a month if they allowed their car to be wrapped as an advertisement for a beer company.

The couple received a check and cashed it only to find out later the check was fraudulent.

The victims are a 46-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, of Emlenton.
