State Police Release Details on Fatal Interstate 80 Crash

BEAVER TWP., Pa. – State police in Clarion have released details surrounding a fatal crash that took place in Beaver Township, Clarion County, on December 8.

Police say the accident happened around 7:40 a.m. on Interstate 80 Westbound, near mile-marker 50.2.

According to police, a 1992 Honda Accord operated by 39-year-old David P. Hynes, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, swerved across the right lane and exited the highway.

Hynes’ vehicle then traveled approximately 182 feet across the grass and into the woods before crashing into a tree.

Hynes was pronounced dead at the scene by Clarion County Coroner Terry Shaffer.

Knox Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
