Police Release Details on Hickory Township Crash; Two People Injured

HICKORY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Two people were rushed to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision on State Route 62 in Hickory Township.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 4:06 p.m. on August 13, 67-year-old Dennis L. Schrecengost, of Warren, was traveling in a 2013 Subaru north on Route 62, one mile north of State Route 127, in Hickory Township, Forest County.

His Subaru was directly behind a 2006 Chevrolet that traveled into the southbound lane to make a left-hand turn into Frank’s Auto. Schrecengost also entered the southbound lane of traffic and was unable to maintain a safe distance behind the Chevrolet and subsequently struck the back of it. The Subaru spun 150 degrees to its final resting position in the northbound lane facing south.

Schrecengost and his passenger – 66-year-old Bonnie J. Schrecengost, of Warren – were transported to Warren General Hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Both occupants were using seat belts.

The driver of the Chevrolet – whose name was not released – was not injured.

Schrecengost was charged with a traffic violation.

Hickory Township Volunteer Fire Department, Tionesta Ambulance, and Frank’s Towing assisted at the scene.
