SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) — A one-vehicle accident occurred early Wednesday morning on State Route 417, (Rocky Grove Avenue), in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 5:24 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 24-year-old Nicholas T. King, of Oil City, was traveling south on Route 417 in a 2011 Ford Ranger. The pickup was traveling too fast for the current weather conditions, and its tires lost traction on the snow-covered roadway.

The vehicle drove off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle then bounced back approximately five feet where it came to a final rest.

King suffered suspected minor injuries. He was using a seat belt.

Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Lowry’s Towing assisted at the scene.
