Police Respond to Domestic Dispute in Oil City, Discover Meth Lab

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The Oil City Police Department arrested an Oil City man on meth charges following the report of a domestic dispute.

Oil City Police Officers were summoned to a residence on the 700 block of West Front Street where 48-year-old Herbert Leroy Brickner was living with a girlfriend.

According to police, during the course of the investigation of the domestic dispute, officers observed multiple items known as precursors. It is believed these items to be involved in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Police say that Brickner’s girlfriend also “told officers he had been manufacturing methamphetamine at the residence within the last week.”

Based on the investigation, Patrolman Ruditis applied for and was granted a search warrant for the residence occupied by Brickner and his girlfriend. A subsequent search revealed items to include but not limited to multiple spent or used “one pot” methamphetamine labs as well as multiple precursors for the manufacturing of methamphetamine and pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Brickner was arraigned at 10:10 p.m. in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on the following charges:

– Conspiracy – Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possessing phenylpropanolamine, etc., or a precursor substance with intent to unlawfully manufacture, Felony
– Risking Catastrophe, Felony 3
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $150,000.00 straight bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2.
