Police Respond to Mental Health Check; Assault, Trespass Reported

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – An assault and trespass were reported to Franklin Police after they responded to a mental health call on Tuesday.

Franklin Police were dispatched to a residence on Taylor Street for a report of a mental health issue on Tuesday, March 24.

Police spoke to Matthew Castile at the scene, and Castile allegedly stated he wanted to go to the hospital for an evaluation. He was then transported to UPMC Northwest.

According to police, after Castile left the residence, the complainant advised that Castile had punched a known man in the face twice earlier that day, sending the known man to the hospital.

Police were also advised by a property manager that Castile was officially banned from the property and was not permitted to be at the residence.
