Police Respond to One-Vehicle Crash in Cherrytree Township

CHERRYTREE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police responded to a one-vehicle crash in Cherrytree Township late Thursday morning.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident occurred on State Route 8 just north of Buxton Road in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, around 10:46 a.m. on Thursday, April 2.

Police say 57-year-old Luann K. Rice, of Evans City, was operating a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling southbound on State Route 8, when a deer entered the roadway from the east side of the road, and Rice was unable to avoid striking the deer with the vehicle.

Rice was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Shambaugh Towing.
