Police Respond to One-Vehicle Crash on Old Route 8

IRWIN TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a one-vehicle crash occurred on Monday night Old Route 8 in Irwin Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:34 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 49-year-old Michelle D. Heckathorne, of Polk, was operating a 2017 Hyundai Accent, traveling north on Old State Route 8, just north of Wheldon Road in Irwin Township.

Police say a deer entered the northbound lane and Heckathorne’s vehicle hit the deer with its front driver’s side portion causing disabling damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a final rest on the east side of Old State Route 8.

Heckathorne was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
