Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash in Tionesta Township

TIONESTA TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say a two-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday morning on State Route 36, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, 43-year-old Catherine R. Slater, of Jackson Center, Pa., and 25-year-old David N. Lytle, of Dayton, Pa., were involved in the collision.

Police say around 10:23 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, Slater drove her 2005 Chevrolet Colorado onto Route 36 from the east side of the roadway in front of Lytle’s 2007 International Harvester truck that was traveling north on Route 36.

The truck swerved and attempted to avoid the Chevrolet, but it struck the front portion of it.

Both drivers were using seat belts and were not injured.

The Chevrolet sustained major damage, and the International sustained minor damage.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department, Tionesta Ambulance Service, Frank’s Towing, and Minich’s Towing assisted.

Slater was charged with a traffic violation.
