Police: Scammer Tried to Use ‘Motion Picture Money’ at Local Store

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police are investigating a counterfeit money scam at a convenience store in Sandycreek Twp., Venango County.

Trooper Bingham said the incident happened Saturday around 8 p.m. when an unknown person tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at the Red Express Convenience Store along Pittsburgh Road.

The wording “For Motion Picture Purposes” and “This note is for motion picture purposes. It is not legal tender.” was printed on the top of the bill, according to Tpr. Bingham.
