Police Searching for Driver After Car Crashes into Utility Pole, Tree in Cornplanter Twp.

CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are seeking information on a crash that occurred early Monday morning in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to police, this crash occurred around 12:28 a.m. on Monday, March 26, as a 2009 Infiniti was traveling south on Grandview Road. The unidentified driver was attempting to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and over/under compensated and traveled off the east berm, hitting multiple bushes, a mailbox/post, a utility pole, and a large tree.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The driver fled the scene upon the arrival of first responders.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene by Minich’s Towing.

Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
