Police Searching for Person Who Strung Fishing Line on Plummer Street

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Police are investigating an incident involving a large amount of fishing line that was strung along Plummer Street, creating a potential hazard to pedestrians.

Around 8:11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, an employee of the city’s Water Department flagged down Ptlm. Ragon of the Oil City Police Department at the corner of Plummer Street and Spruce Street to inform him that someone had strung heavy duty fishing line the length of Plummer Street.

The fishing line, which ran along the roadway from the top of Plummer Street near Grove Avenue to Center Street, created a tripping hazard and it .

The line was rolled up and disposed of at the Oil City police station.

According to police, there appeared to be at least twenty pounds of fishing line which could have created a serious problem for pedestrians walking down Plummer Street — possibly resulting in someone tripping into traffic.
