Police Seek Information on Burglary in Cherrytree Township

CHERRYTREE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police are seeking information on a burglary that occurred on Miles Road, in Cherrytree Township, Venango County.

According to police, sometime between January 10 and January 31, an unknown perpetrator(s) forcibly entered a residence on Miles Road by smashing out the front door.

While inside the house, the perpetrator(s) broke out eight exterior windows, caused extensive damage to the wall paneling, and damaged a wooden pantry, TV, and wall clock, police say.

Additionally, the perpetrator(s) stole three new Honeywell electric heaters, according to police.

A detached garage was also forcibly entered and approximately 15 fishing rods were stolen, police say.

The door to the garage was severely damaged in the burglary, according to police.

The perpetrator(s) fled on foot, undetected in an unknown direction, police say.

Damage to the residence and garage is estimated at an excess of $2,900.00.

Stolen items are valued at approximately $600.00.

The victim is a 52-year-old Zelienople man.
