Police: Wanted Oil City Man Found with Meth, Weed, Suboxone

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man picked up on outstanding warrants is now facing additional charges after he was discovered to be in possession of multiple controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, Ptlm. Rembold of the Oil City Police Department was advised that Leon Wagner, 35, was reported to be operating a dark-colored GMC in the area.

Ptlm. Rembold, who was aware Wagner did not have a valid driver’s license and had active warrants for his arrest, then located the vehicle and observed Wagner operating it.

Ptlm. Rembold then initiated a traffic stop and advised Wagner he was under arrest for the active warrants. Wagner was handcuffed and placed in the rear of Ptlm. Rembold’s patrol vehicle.

According to the complaint, while speaking with Ptlm. Rembold, Wagner admitted to having a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside a book bag in the vehicle.

The complaint notes Ptlm. Rembold found the suspected methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana, several strips of suboxone, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia including a scale, over 100 small baggies, rubber bands, glass pipes, and several other items.

Wagner was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, April 26.

He faces the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Drive While Operator Privilege Suspended Or Revoked, Summary

Unable to post $5,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, with Judge Fish presiding.
