ROCKY GROVE, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities are seeking information on a suspicious man who was reportedly going door-to-door in the Venango County area on Friday.

Sugarcreek Borough Police Department Patrolman Johnson said the investigation was initiated after a Rocky Grove resident called to report that a man claiming to be from Spectrum Internet stopped at her Lamberton Street home around 7:00 p.m.

The man attempted to sell products to the woman; however, have he did not have credentials and was “acting weirdly,” according to the woman.

He is described as a white male, approximately 6’1″ with a thin build, metal-framed glasses and a short beard. He was wearing dark clothing, a reflective vest, and was carrying a clipboard.

The woman also told police that when she declined, he returned to his car and sat in it for a short period of time before leaving.

After the man left, she contacted Spectrum Internet and asked if they had representatives out. They advised her that they did not.

Anyone seeing a person who matches this description is asked to contact their local police department so that the individual can be identified and verified.
