OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — The Oil City Council agreed to put a portion of the Industrial Park up for sale.

The decision was made after a short executive meeting at Thursday night’s council meeting.

According to City Manager Mark Schroyer, a few years ago the City sold off a portion of the Industrial Park, and now there is some interest in an entity buying a second part of the Industrial Park.

Schroyer said the part that will be put up for sale is the part occupied by SMS Millcraft.

SMS Millcraft has expressed interest in buying the area it occupies and would like to make upgrades to it. Law requires the City to put the property out for bid — it can’t just sell it straight to SMS Millcraft.

Even if this section of the Industrial Park is sold, the City will still own a “large” piece of the Park.
