OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City man is facing felony charges following an overdose incident that occurred early Saturday morning on West Fourth Street.

Court documents indicate that the Oil City Police department filed criminal charges against 37-year-old Nathan D. Dale of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:03 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, Oil City Police were dispatched to a residence on West Fourth Street for a report of a 37-year-old male who overdosed on possible Fentynal.

Ptlm. Webster notes in the complaint that when he entered the residence he observed Officer Byham doing chest compressions while a man, later identified as Nathan Dale, was attempting to breathe for the unconscious man.

Ptlm. Webster also noted the unconscious man had a blue tint to his face and lips and he was not breathing but did have a pulse.

According to the complaint, Oil City Fire Department personnel then arrived and took over the treatment, administering Narcan. A short time later, he regained consciousness and began breathing on his own.

As the man was being loaded into the ambulance at the scene, he advised the emergency personnel that his wife had used the same unknown substance.

According to the complaint, the man’s wife informed Ptlm. Webster that Dale brought the unknown substance, located in a red and white folded paper, to the residence. The woman stated that she, her husband, and Dale all used the substance.

Dale was arraigned at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.

He faces two felony counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and one misdemeanor count of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, with Judge Fish presiding.
