Road Conditions Cause One-Vehicle Crash on Route 8

CHERRYTREE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on Friday afternoon on State Route 8, in Cherrytree Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 6:33 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 25-year-old Robert L. Sibble, of Oil City, was traveling south on Route 8. He approached a snow- and ice-covered portion of the roadway, and his 2006 KIA Sorento slid off the road and struck a rock.

Sibble was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The vehicle sustained minor damage to the right front portion and its right front tire and was towed from the scene.

Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
