Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 8

CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 8 in Cornplanter Township on Thursday evening.

Franklin-based State Police say 62-year-old Deborah L. Craig and 65-year-old Thomas L. Rennard, both of Oil City, were involved in the collision.

A 2006 Ford Fusion, driven by Craig, and a 2009 KIA Optima, driven by Rennard, were traveling north on State Route 8, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County, around 5:14 p.m. on Thursday, October 18.

The KIA slowed down to turn left onto Kane Run Road, and the Ford struck it in the rear end causing minor damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Craig was charged with a traffic violation.

The KIA was driven from the scene.

The Ford was towed by Venango Towing.

Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
