Hit-and-Run Reported in Cornplanter Township

CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a hit-and-run accident occurred on State Route 8, in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to police, this crash occurred as a 2012 Ram truck exited a private lane and made a right turn south on Route 8 at an unknown rate of speed.

Police say the vehicle then crossed the northbound lane and struck a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle attempted to leave the scene by backing up and got stuck in a ditch.

According to police, the vehicle was pulled out of the ditch causing damage to the yard and knocking over a mailbox. The vehicle then left the scene as a result.

The driver of the vehicle will be cited with numerous traffic violations.

No other information was released.
