IRWIN TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman lost control of her vehicle on Route 8 and crashed into a guide rail early Saturday morning.

Franklin-based State Police say this crash occurred around 12:28 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, as a 2008 Dodge Caliber was traveling southbound on State Route 8, south of Georgetown Road.

According to police, as the driver — 41-year-old Marcie L. Kay, of Oil City — negotiated a left-hand curve, she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid sideways across the northbound lane of travel. The vehicle then struck the guide rail along the northbound lane, turned 90 degrees, and struck the guide rail again before coming to a final rest.

Kay was using a seat belt and suffered suspected minor injuries.
