OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City man was arrested early Monday morning on assault charges following a domestic dispute in the city.

Oil City Police say the incident happened around 1:12 a.m. in the 100 block of Washington Avenue.

Following an investigation, it was determined that 51-year-old Roger C. Smith allegedly “became physical” with a known female.

Smith faces the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Unknown

He was arraigned by District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland and released on $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for February 17 in Venango County Central Court.
