| June 22, 2018

PLEASANTVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A man was transported to UPMC Northwest following a motorcycle crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon on State Route 227, in Pleasantville Borough, Venango County.

According to police, around 3:27 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 56-year-old Alfred Zwerus was operating a 2015 Harley-Davidson FLHXS traveling west on State Route 227 just north of Maple Street, Pleasantville, in Allegheny Township.

Police say as Zwerus approached a turn in the road, he was distracted by the scenery and did not realize there was a group of fellow riders stopped on the roadway. He decided to drive off the roadway instead of striking the other vehicles.

Zwerus’ motorcycle exited the roadway striking numerous bushes and came to final rest in a field.

He was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service for suspected minor injuries.

He was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
