ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police say a one-vehicle rollover crash occurred on Interstate 80 East, in Allegheny Township, Butler County.
According to Clarion-based State Police, around 2:51 a.m. on July 13, 48-year-old Jimmy R. King, of Botkins, Ohio, was traveling in a 2014 Peterbilt east on I-80 in the right lane at the 44 mile-marker in Allegheny Township.
Police say the Peterbilt was negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway and overturned after the load, 36 head of cattle, shifted. The vehicle slid across the travel lanes on its passenger side for approximately 300 feet prior to coming to a rest on the southern shoulder, facing east.
Emlenton Area Ambulance Service transported King to Grove City Hospital for injuries of unknown severity. H
He was not using a seat belt.
He was charged with a traffic violation.
Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Area Ambulance Service, Hovis Towing, PennDOT, Hirsch’s Meats, and Hepler Farms assisted at the scene.
