Franklin Man Charged with DUI in Sugarcreek Crash

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. — State police have released details surrounding a DUI-related crash that occurred last Tuesday evening in Sugarcreek Borough.

According to a report released by Franklin-based State Police, around 9:45 p.m. on January 23, an unnamed 59-year-old Franklin man was driving north on Rocky Grove Avenue in a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. While negotiating a left turn, the vehicle crashed into a ditch and struck a culvert pipe before crossing a driveway and impacting another ditch.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end on the passenger side as well as a flattened front tire. It was towed from the scene by Sugarcreek Towing.

The driver, whose name was not released, was arrested and charged with DUI.
