OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing a preliminary hearing next week for allegedly stealing a phone.

Court documents indicate a preliminary hearing for 28-year-old Lisa Allmendinger, of Oil City, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, with Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish presiding.

Allmendinger faces a first-degree misdemeanor charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking.

She is currently free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:14 a.m. on Friday, June 29, a known individual called the Oil City Police Department to report that Lisa Allmendinger had stolen a phone.

The victim and another known individual stated that on Thursday, June 28, around 5:00 p.m., Allmendinger was at their residence and was given permission to use the victim’s phone. The victim said Allmendinger then left the residence with the phone.

After Allmendinger left, the other known individual attempted to call the phone to have her return it. Allmendinger would either say she would be back or just hang up, according to the complaint.

Patrolman Lawton asked Allmendinger about the phone, and she stated that she “lost it,” the complaint states.

She was arraigned at 2:10 pm on Friday, June 29, in Judge Fish’s office.
