FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 26.

The event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Meadville and Franklin Stations of Pennsylvania State Police will be sites for collection.

The agencies coordinate a collaborative effort focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets. This is a great opportunity for those who missed previous events or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions to safely dispose of the medications with law enforcement officers for destruction.

Over-the-counter medications are also accepted.

This anonymous service is free and open to the public.

Questions may be directed to Trooper Michelle McGee at 814-676-6596.
