Rachel L. Prioleau, age 83, of Golden Living Center in Shippenville, previously of Marion, SC died on May 29, 2013.

Born on August 2, 1929 in Marion, SC, she was the daughter of Boyd Smith and Frances Mason Smith.

On March 29, 1949, she married Charles F. Prioleau, Sr. in Columbia, SC. He preceded her in death in November 2002.

She was a social worker in the Pittsburgh area for many years, a classically trained singer and recognized for being an excellent cook.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971.

She is survived by two daughters: Jerlyn Lewis (Grayson) of North Braddock, PA and Rachelle Prioleau of Knox, PA; four sons: Charles, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, Rodney Prioleau of Pittsburgh, PA, Roderick Prioleau (significant other Karen Moore) of Indianapolis, IN and Robert Prioleau (Laura) of Twenty Nine Palms, CA and eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister: Cora L. Gurley of Marion, SC. and one brother, David Moody of Marion, SC.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one sister, Mary Townsend and one brother Raymond Smith.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 11077 Route 322, Shippenville, PA at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013.
