zinzRalph Thomas “Tom” Zinz, age 63, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 4:35 PM in his residence. He was born December 15, 1950 in Oil City, PA to Jerold and Ethel (Gegoine) Zinz.

On June 27, 1970, in Oil City, PA, he was united in marriage to Nancy Sherman, who survives. He faithfully served God and Country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam Conflict as an Aircraft Mechanic (AM H3). A graduate of Rocky Grove High School, Franklin, PA he attained an A.A. Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology with a concentration in electronics from Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA in 1985 and a B.S. from Alliance College in Technical Management with a Minor in Manufacturing Engineering Cambridge Springs, PA. And was included in the National Dean’s List.

A Warsaw, IN resident since 1991, he was a member of the American Legion and volunteered for the Eagles and Cub Scouts. He was employed by Joy Manufacturing of Franklin, PA as Machinist Inspector from 1973 to 1987; Halstead Metal Products of Zelienople, PA as a Quality Manager from 1988 to 1991, Elkhart Metal Products of Geneva, IN from 1991 to 1992; Bremen Castings of Bremen, IN as a Quality Manager from 1992 to 1994; Lloyds of London/Lloyds Register Quality Assurance of London, England as Lead Auditor from 1997 to 2006; and CAN Tool of Churubusco, IN as a Quality Engineer from 2006 to 2014. He was an avid motorcyclist, hunter, fisherman, coin collector and Little League Coach.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Zinz of Warsaw, IN; daughters Renae L. (spouse Quentin) Scott of Schcora, PA and Rachelle Glancy of Decatur, IN; a son Richard E. Zinz of Larwill, IN; a sister Mary (spouse Harold) Howard of Pocatello, ID; brothers Alan E. (spouse Patty) Zinz of North Ogden, UT and Michael (spouse Sandy) Zinz of Marble Hill, MS. In addition, grandchildren Jessie (spouse Jena) Musthaf, Jeffery Musthaf, Brandon and Nicole Teeple and great grandchildren Damian and Serenity Musthaf survive.

Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN. Funeral services are scheduled in the Funeral Chapel for Monday, November 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery; Warsaw with Military Rites conducted by Warsaw American Legion Post # 49 and V.F.W. Post # 1126.
