Ray F. FescenmyerRay Francis Fescenmyer, 78, of Knox, went to heaven on September 29, 2014. Ray passed peacefully of an
apparent heart attack at his residence.

Born November 25, 1935, he was the son of the late Ray and Flo Lechner Fescenmyer of Millerstown (Elk Township).

On November 22, 1957 Ray married Darlene Whitling who he celebrated 56 years of marriage with.

Ray attended Shippenville School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, enlisting April 28, 1954 and honorably discharged on April 27, 1956.

He served in Japan and Okinawa in the 3rd Division during Korean Conflict.

He was a machine operator at Knox Glass and Anchor Glass in Elmira, NY and retired in 1992. After retiring from Knox Glass, Ray transported IU6 students for several years. He was also a maintenance worker for Christian Life Academy for 9 years.

Ray especially loved the outdoors, farming, animals, taking walks, visiting with family/friends, and doing cement work.

He had many other hobbies including working on oil wells, stained glass, and helping others.

While living in Elmira, NY, he was part of the Elmira Prison Ministry. Ray was a member of Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God, Emlenton, PA. He participated in preparing the communion for Sunday services for many years.

Along with his wife Ray is survived by his children Darla Rae (Jeff) Ausel of Cranberry, and Daniel Ray (Ricki) Fescenmyer of Knox, He was especially devoted to his 5 grandchildren, Allyson Rae Ausel and Rebecca Danielle Ausel of Cranberry, PA and Hunter Ray Fescenmyer, Chandler Scott Fescenmyer, and Ashton Scott Fescenmyer of Knox.

Also surviving are two sisters, Florabell Best of Shippenville, and Judy (Bob) Wiant of Marble, one brother Joe (Dorothy) Fescenmyer of Marble. He is also survived by numerous
nieces, nephews, and close friends. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his mother-in-law Grace Whitling and four brothers-in-law, Gerald Whitling, Donald Whitling, Homer “Jack” Best Jr. and John Niederriter.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn St., Knox and from 10 to 11 a.m
Friday at the Chapel on the Hill, 6202 Emlenton Clintonville Rd, Emlenton. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor Chris Clark officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Marks Cemetery in Kossuth. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Chapel on the Hill, Emlenton in memory of Ray or a charity of your choice.
