Raymond K. Virgile

Raymond K. Virgile, 67, of Oil City, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born October 20, 1950 in the state of Indiana, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Elizabeth Virgile.

He was an Oil City High School graduate.

Raymond proudly owned and operated R.K. Virgile Scrap Metals in Oil City, serving the local community since 1980. He built the business from the ground up and was known for his passion for what he did. He was a hard worker, spending endless hours on the job, and worked into the night constantly.

R.K. was a member of the Eagles Club and a pool league. He loved golfing, and racing, and sponsored races on many occasions. He had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone out, anytime it was needed. Raymond loved spending time with his family and friends.

Raymond was known for his sense of humor and always had something funny to say. He always said, “The man with the most toys at the end wins!” And he left this world a winner.

On August 21, 1980, he was married to the former Cheryl A. Lockwood who survives.

He is survived by a son, Jeremy Grieff and his wife, Stacey of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Amanda Carbaugh and her husband Jacob, of Rockland; Randy Wyant of Cranberry; and two grandchildren, Tyler Wyant, and Travis Carbaugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jesica Lee Virgile.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, in the Morrison Funeral Home. Additional calling will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James W. Kimel officiating.
