Raymond W. Mamott Jr.

Raymond W. Mamott Jr., 66, of Seneca, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Oakwood Heights after a period of declining health.

Born July 14, 1951, in Oil City, Raymond was the son of the late Raymond W. Mamott Sr. and Dorothy Heckathorn Mamott.

Ray was a 1969 graduate of Oil City High School.

He was married February 16, 1979, to the former Sandra L. Gold and she survives.

Raymond enjoyed his time shooting at the Izaak Walton League and hunting. He was a finish Carpenter and belonged to Local # 682. He built and remodeled two of his homes. For many years he had lived in Fertigs and enjoyed gardening and riding the tractor with the kids. He never let his disability stop him from getting the job done. He always volunteered his time and work for anyone who needed it. Ray also did a lot of work for the Christ Community Church.

Mr. Mamott was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Brian and wife Holly Copley of McKean, and special niece Chanelle Gold McClelland and her husband Mark Jr.

Also surviving are grandchildren Alex Sanders and husband Stephen, Joshua Copley and special friend Nadia, Dakota Wagner and a special friend Rachel Mooney, Lilly and Urijah McClelland and a great-grandson, Oliver Sanders.

He is survived by siblings; JoAnn Bell and husband Daryl of Franklin, Maxine Barnes and husband Lynn of Cortland, OH, Lynn Fink and her significant other Jake Heckathorn of Oil City, and Kathleen Olsen and husband Kevin of Erie; brothers-in-law Jack Gold and wife Ann, and Mark Gold and Jay Gold all of Oil City, as well as his fishing buddy, Tim Gold.

A Celebration of life will take place at the Reinsel Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31, at 5:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Rusnak Ascera Care Chaplain, Presiding. There will be a dinner for family and friends following the service at the Fertigs Community Center.

The Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
