Registration Open for Actors’ Workshops & Improv Show/Q&A with Sean Whalen at Barrow-Civic Theatre

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Registration is still open for the Actors’ Workshops & Improv Show and Q&A with Sean Whalen.

The event is on Saturday, November 17, at Barrow Little Theatre.

The day will start with a Master Improv Class for ages 15+ from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

People can register online at barrowtheatre.com/bti or at the door.

Participants should arrive in the Barrow main lobby at 12:45 for check-in.

This high-energy workshop will help participants to enhance their character and improv skills with coaching from one of the most sought-after private acting instructors in the industry.

The cost for the workshop is $30.00.

Workshop participants and the community are invited to meet Sean from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Barrow-Civic Little Theatre. Sean will share some of his improv techniques and discuss his experience and perspectives in the acting industry. Admission is $4 (free for workshop participants).

Tickets are available in advance or at the door.

About Sean Whalen

Sean’s career began with commercials, appearing in spots for Little Caesar’s, TJ Maxx, and the first “Got Milk?” commercial, directed by Michael Bay. His first major film role was in Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs. Other films include Men in Black, Charlie’s Angels, Batman Returns, Twister, Halloween II, Never Been Kissed, Jury Duty, That Thing You Do, Employee of the Month, and Waterworld. He has appeared in independent features including Villisca, Hatchet 3, Laid To Rest, Python, All Superheroes Must Die, and The FP.

Television offered many comedic and dramatic roles in shows such as Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Constantine, Criminal Minds, Castle, Revenge, NYPD Blue, My Wife and Kids, Lost, and Friends. He’s worked on shows for Disney and Nickelodeon and has a recurring role on the soap Bold and the Beautiful and the NBC comedy, Superstore.

Sean has written several screenplays, TV pilots, punch-up work on several cartoons, and short films. He currently teaches at and is the founder of the comedy department at NOTS Comedy School and teaches improv, scene study, and auditioning workshops across the country. He is also getting into the world of independent features as a producer and writer.
