Registration Open for Actors’ Workshops with Sean Whalen at Barrow-Civic Theatre

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Registration is still open for the Actors’ Workshops & Improv Show and Q&A with Sean Whalen.

The event is on Saturday, July 20, at Barrow Little Theatre.

The day will start with an Improv Workshop for new students ages 15+ from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Later in the day, a second Improv Workshop will be available for previous Sean Whalen students from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Enhance your character acting and improv skills in a fun, high-energy workshop with special guest instructor, Sean Whalen.

With over 25 years of experience in Hollywood, Sean teaches students how to commit to the truthfulness of comedic acting, deal with all possible choices in a scene, and trust in their own unique and interesting sense of humor. Through improv games and scene work, actors will learn how to hone in on skills of listening, being present, and getting out of their own heads.

Later that evening, Sean will lead actors with exercises learned during the day’s workshops for the public Sean Whalen Improv Show. Students should return to the theatre at 6:45 p.m. to participate.

The cost for each workshop is $45.00.

About Sean Whalen

Currently living in Los Angelos, CA, Sean Whalen is a professional actor, writer, producer, and acting instructor with 130 IMDb television and major film credits.

Sean’s career began with commercials, appearing in spots for Little Caesar’s, TJ Maxx, and the first “Got Milk?” commercial, directed by Michael Bay. His first major film role was in Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs.

His acting experience spans multiple genres, with roles in titles including Twister, Criminal Minds, Lost, Laid to Rest, Friends, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Men in Black, Batman Returns, Halloween II, Waterworld, and Employee of the Month.

Sean teaches acting workshops across the country and is the founder of NOTS Comedy School, where he teaches teaching improv, scene study, and auditioning.

Sean has written several screenplays, TV pilots, punch-up work on several cartoons, and short films. He currently teaches at and is the founder of the comedy department at NOTS Comedy School and teaches improv, scene study, and auditioning workshops across the country. He is also getting into the world of independent features as a producer and writer.
