Catherine trained with Ursula Payne, Teena Custer, Nola Nolen Holland, and Jennifer Keller. Her achievements in performance installations include In Early Spring presented at Slippery Rock University and Concealment presented at the Associated Artists of Butler County Gallery, both in 2012. Concealment was featured in the Artist Portfolio Magazine, issue 11, 2013, and both installations were covered in the ARTiculAction Art Review September 2014 online publication.

Her love of nature and technology has also led to unique experiences in creating site specific dances for the camera; primarily they include her studies set in Death Valley National Park, which were done in 2012. These studies, along with In Early Spring, resulted in the Dance Technology Award from Slippery Rock University’s dance department and her film was in the International Screendance Festival in Durham, North Carolina.

In 2015, Catherine guided her upper level modern class through a film making experience, and they are waiting to hear back to various calls. Meanwhile, her choreography has been presented in a variety of settings including Van Dyke and Company’s premier ballet “The Ugly Duckling a Beautiful Ballet” by Joan Van Dyke in 2014 and several pieces in Dancer’s Studio 2014, 2015, and 2016 spring recitals.

She has danced or presented choreography for the past four years for the Dubois Art Walk on the Block in DuBois, Pennsylvania, including a twenty two minute modern piece. Catherine has taught modern, jazz, and ballet for Van Dyke and Company for five years and is teaching classes at the DuBois branch. Catherine is active in her artistic endeavors and her art has been included in select shows such as the Bottlebrush Show at the Bottlebrush Gallery in Harmony, Pennsylvania, in 2012, Expressions: Contemporary Portraiture Exhibit, Kiernan Gallery, 2014 Lexington, Virginia, Identity Interpreted and Assumed: Self Portrait, Tall Grass Arts 2014 Association, Park Forest, Illinois.
