Registration Open for Fryburg Mayfest Cornhole Contest

FRYBURG, Pa. (EYT) — It’s time to get signed up for the Fryburg Mayfest Corn Hole Tournament.

The tournament will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, at the Washington Township Volunteer Department.

First, second, and third places are awarded.

The registration fee is $25.00 per team. For those who sign up by May 19, the cost is $20.00.

The registration form can be found at fryburgmayfest.com.

All proceeds will go to The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Team Oakwood Heights.

The tournament is in memory of Dick Kapp and will benefit the fight against Alzheimer’s disease,

Mr. Kapp was born and raised in the Venus/Fryburg area before graduating from Shippenville. He then joined the Army and served in the Korean War.

He married Ruth Ehrhart in 1956, and they had two children, Jeff and Brade.

He and Ruth were both active members of Faith Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school and served as an assisting minister. Dick died from Alzheimer’s disease on New Year’s Day 2013.

His family now works to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association to help other families coping with this disease.
