Reid R KnappReid R. Knapp, age 91, of Pennsylvania Ave., in Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Reid was born on July 14, 1925, to the late Charles D. and Hazel E. (Work) Knapp, in Brookville, PA.

Reid attended the Miller’s School and then went straight into working the family farm.

He spent time working as the Head-Heardsman for the Jefferson County Home, and eventually worked for V. T. Smith Dairy in Dubois, PA; he retired at the age of 62.

To keep himself busy he took a part-time position driving Bus for the ATA.

Reid was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church on Jefferson St., in Brookville, PA, where he served in various positions including the Property Committee and on the Board of Trustees.

On October 22, 1948, Reid married Thresa P. (Cruddas) Knapp; Thresa preceded him in passing on March 4, 2000.

On August 2, 2003, he married Ruby (Thomas) (Emery) Knapp; Ruby survives him.

In addition to his wife Ruby, Reid is survived by 2 sons; Charles T. Knapp of Bloomsbury, PA; Russell F. Knapp of DuBois, PA; 1 daughter; Karen F. Knapp of DuBois, PA; 3 step-daughters; Marsha Henry of Columbiana, OH; Judy Metzler of Crocket, TX; Linda (John) McKinley of Bear, DE; 1 step-son; Alvin (Carol) Emery of Brookville, PA; 8 step-grandchildren; and 9 great-step-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife and parents, Reid is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Charles W. Knapp and Donald Knapp; 2 sisters; Ethel Barnett and Anna Ford.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 12noon — 2pm, at the McKinney — d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825.

A funeral service will immediately follow the viewing at the funeral home, beginning at 2pm, and officiated by Pastor Dennis Johnson.

Interment will take place at Morningside Cemetery in DuBois, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church, Jefferson St., Brookville, PA.
