CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Reno woman is facing felony charges for allegedly recording a victim without her knowledge.

According to court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 53-year-old Rebecca Joan Berry, of Reno:

– Intercept Communications, Felony 3
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Possession Instrument Of Crime W/Intent, Misdemeanor 1
– Intimidation Witness/Victim — Refrain From Report, Misdemeanor 2

According to a criminal complaint, on April 22, Rebecca Berry allegedly went to the victim’s apartment and recorded a conversation with her iPhone, asking her questions about an incident involving her son. The victim had no knowledge that she was being recorded in her own apartment.

Berry told the victim that “she hopes this doesn’t affect her job,” the complaint states.

Berry allegedly admitted to recording the victim to play it for her husband to hear, according to the complaint.

Berry was arraigned at 3:30 p.m. on April 24 in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey.

Berry is free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on May 2 with Judge Lowrey presiding.
