Rep. James Presents Oil City Arts Council with Resolution Designating Sept. 10-16 as “Arts in Education Week”

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — State Representative R. Lee James presented Dan Feroz, president of the Oil City Arts Council, with a Pennsylvania House of Representatives resolution designating Sept. 10-16 as “Arts in Education Week” in Pennsylvania.

“The arts and humanities are very important and of our great interest to members of the House of Representatives,” James said. “I was given a piece of information, that you might find interesting, by, presumably, accountants who know how to track these things, the arts and humanities of Pennsylvania annually are responsible either directly or indirectly for upwards of $3 billion in commerce, and I think that makes them pretty important.”

After receiving the citation from James, Feroz informed James that arts and humanities account for 250 full-time jobs in Oil City.
