Rep. Oberlander To Host Firearm Safety, Rights Seminar

Donna-Oberlander1KNOX, Pa. – To update local firearms owners about state gun laws, Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) will host another popular Firearm Safety and Rights Seminar on Saturday, April 8, in Knox.

Special guest speakers will be Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron and Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee.

“The Second Amendment is one of our most cherished rights as American citizens, and our residents want to know more about their duties as responsible gun owners,” Oberlander said. “This seminar is specifically designed so that residents will learn more about their rights as gun owners, how the Castle Doctrine is applied in self-defense cases and common questions about our state’s concealed carry laws. I encourage anyone who is a gun owner or who is thinking about becoming one to register and attend this informative presentation.”

The event will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. at the fire hall, located at 514 E. Railroad St. in Knox.

The presentations will focus on a wide variety of firearms safety and Second Amendment subjects including:

– How to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
– Circumstances under which a permit can be revoked.
– What to do when coming in contact with a member of law enforcement while carrying a concealed weapon.
– Details surrounding Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine and other valuable information regarding state gun laws.

Concealed carry license applications through the Clarion County Sheriff’s Office will also be available at this event.

The seminar is free of charge.
