Rescue Teams Searching for 12-year-old Sharon Boy

MERCER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — According to sources, rescue teams are searching for a 12-year-old Sharon boy who has been missing since Thursday.

Sources say 12-year-old Mark Goodrich, Jr., was last seen about 10:00 a.m. on Thursday riding his brother’s blue bicycle near his father’s home on King Street, Sharon, Pa.

Sources say Mark, who is 4’6″ and about 98 pounds, was wearing gray shorts, a black shirt, black socks, and gray shoes when he left, and he walks with his right shoulder drooped because of a surgery.

Pieces of clothing said to be Mark’s were found near rusted railroad trestle that traverses the Shenango River at the former Sharon Steel plant.

Authorities searched the area along U.S. Route 62 north of the Shenango River in Masury adjacent to the Pennsylvania line.

Brookfield and Sharon police and fire department each had a boat in the river, and water rescue teams were on hand from the Trumbull County Sheriff’s department, Mecca and Weathersfield, Ohio.

Also assisting on the scene were search dogs from K-9 SOS in New Castle, PAWSAR Search and Rescue from New Castle, and a Stat MedEvac helicopter.
