Reunited: Ohio Mother Finds Missing Son in Clarion

| September 24, 2018

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – An Ohio man who went missing last week was located in the Clarion area on Sunday evening.

Kerri Male told exploreClarion.com that her son – 21-year-old Samuel Richards of Orrville, Ohio – was found safe around 11:00 p.m.

On Friday, Richards called his mother from the TA truck stop in Brookville and said he was headed to Clarion.

When Male didn’t hear back from her son, she reported him missing to the Orrville Police Department before traveling to the Clarion area on Sunday to search for him.

Richards was in the Clarion area on Friday doing fundraising work with a North Carolina-based outreach ministry called Bondage Breakers and separated from the group.

“He was alone. (The ministry) took all of his belongings. No money, no phone – just the clothes on his back,” said Male.

He had last been seen at the Clarion Walmart on Friday evening.

Male located Richards on Sunday evening after she received a tip on his whereabouts from Clarion-based State Police Tpr. Allison.

Male said she’s thankful for the support that the Clarion and Brookville communities offered her during a stressful time.

“I want to thank everyone here for their kindness and support!” said Male. “People were offering me places to stay and things like that…just above and beyond.”

Male and her son were planning to head back to their Orville, Ohio home on Monday.
