Member_157523[1]Reynold J. “Renny” Carlson, age 80, of Knox, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Clarion.

Born January 9, 1936 in Jamestown, New York, he was a son of the late Ernest and Evelyn McCullough.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.

Renny previously worked for Crescent Tools in Jamestown, NY and was then employed by IA Construction in Reno.

He married the former Fern Sharpe on April 14, 1967 and she survives.

Renny was a member of the Callensburg Church of God. He loved family get togethers and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, golfing and football.

Survivors include his wife, Fern; three sons: Larry Rapp and his wife Joy, of Pine City; Dean Rapp also of Pine City and Dennis Rapp of Phoenix, Arizona and one daughter, Connie Rapp of Pine City.

Renny is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandson; a brother, David Carlson of Jamestown, New York and a sister, Jeanette Skistimas and her husband, John, of Neosho, MO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Rapp; grandson, Tommy Smith and two brothers, Donald and Robert.

Family and friends will be received from 5 -7 pm Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Military honors will be accorded by the Berlin Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox at 7 pm Thursday, in the funeral home.
Funeral services will immediately follow with Reverend Tom Hannold officiating.
