Richard J. Kleck, 79, of Oil City, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born October 8, 1938, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Walter and Agnes Beichner Kleck.

Mr. Kleck was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School.

Richard was a veteran of the US Army Reserves.

He was a life-long member of St. Stephen Church, where he served as an usher.

Mr. Kleck was retired from Pennzoil where he worked as a dispatcher.

Richard was a member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking and making stained glass, which he would hang in the windows around his home.

On November 2, 1963, he married the former Marianne V. Zawislak who preceded him in death on July 1, 2016.

Surviving is a son, Stephen Kleck of Oil City; two daughters, Michelle Felmlee and her husband Timothy of Oil City and Melanie Deeter and her husband Curtis of Oil City; and two grandchildren, Jacob Felmlee and Colin Deeter.

Also surviving are two brothers, Donald Kleck and his wife Mary of Franklin and Tom Kleck and his wife Judy of Florida; a sister, Jane McGinty and her husband Terry of Delaware; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Pugliese and a brother-in-law, Sam Pugliese.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday in St. Stephen Church with the Rev. John Miller presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
