Lernerville Speedway began to wrap up their regular season of racing on Friday evening, but ended up closing out the point races on Saturday morning thanks to Mother Nature and a torrential downpour that hit the track during the heat races.

Despite the rain, the track crew worked feverishly to get the surface back in racing shape and racing resumed around midnight.

The sportsman feature was the first up, and it was Jim Fosnaught who not only picked up his sixth win of the season, but clinched the track championship. Logan Wagner was a first-time winner with the sprint cars while Brian Swartzlander scored the modified win, and Mike Norris won the late model feature when the final checker flew close to 2 o’clock in the morning.
