When the checkers flew there were a pair of new faces in victory lane.

Former track champion Carl Bowser finally got the monkey off his back and recorded his first win of 2017 in convincing fashion.

Another former track champ, Jeremiah Shingledecker of Polk, was also able to get his first win of the season in the big block modified main. He was able to hold off Mat Williamson who has been all but unstoppable this season at the Sarver oval. The win gives Shingledecker at least one win in nine of the last 10 seasons at Lernerville.

Familiar faces returned to victory lane in the late model and sportsman features, where Mike Norris scored his fifth late model feature of the season and Corey McPherson collected win No. 6 on the season. McPherson’s win also clinched him the 2017 track championship, his fifth overall.

This Friday, Lernerville will present the final Fab 4 racing program of the season and crown the remaining three track champions.

Other winners at Mercer included Kyle Fink driving for Jimmy Holden along with Mark Marcucci who scored his unprecedented eighth mod lite win of the season.
