You couldn’t ask for better weather this past weekend which meant plenty of racing options for fans and drivers.

Fab four racing returned to Lernerville Speedway on Friday where a pair of new faces found victory lane.

Wild may be an understatement when describing the late model feature. Brandon Wearing took advantage of the chaos and scored his first career late model win with just four cars running and two on the lead lap when the checker flew.

Rex King Jr. continued his dominating 2019 with a late-race pass of John Mollick to score another big block modified win. Jack Sodeman Jr. returned to victory lane in sprint car compaction by holding of Ohio invader Danny Mumaw. In the stock car nightcap, Terry Young picked up the win visiting victory lane for the first time since 2016.

Fab four racing returns again this Friday at Lernerville with just two-point nights left this season.

The popular Penn-Ohio Pro Stock Series invaded Thunder Mountain Speedway for the Scott Winslow Memorial this past Friday where Andrew Gordon scored the win worth $1,500. Rob Shook, William Hurrellbrink, Bobby Whitling, and Randy Wyant rounded out the top five.

This Friday will be fan appreciation night at Thunder Mountain with dollar hot dogs and the mid-season championships that were rained out last month.

Another strong field of 410 sprint cars filled the pits Saturday at Sharon Speedway.

After winning the first race of the season, Cole Duncan returned to victory lane in convincing fashion leading all 30 laps for the $3,000 win.

This Saturday the FAST Series will return to Sharon for their second and final visit of the season.

Look for a very strong field of sprint cars for this event as many of Ohio’s best racers will be on hand to take on the Western Pennsylvania regulars. Joining the FAST Series will be the RUSH wingless sprints and modifieds. The e-mods and econo mods will also be on the card Saturday with racing slated for 7:00 p.m.

Saturday night at Hummingbird Speedway, Jim Bloom scored a very popular win when he won the street stock feature. For Bloom, it was his first win in nearly 10 years, and the timing couldn’t be better as Hummingbird will present Ina’s Memorial Shootout this Saturday for the street stocks. The winner will take home $1,000 plus lap money for their efforts.

One of the biggest crate late model races of the season took place Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway as the 30th annual Jook George Memorial took center stage. This year’s edition featured the RUSH crate late models and was the highest paying race in series history. Scoring the win was Kyle Lukon who took home over $11,000 from the $43,000 purse.

Over the years, the Patriot Sprint Tour has made eight visits to Mercer Raceway and Saturday Justin Barger became the eighth different in those eight visits. Barger would lead all 25 laps to score his first Patriot victory since 2015.

In the big block modified feature, Phil Vigneri scored his first career Mercer win. Vigneri did by holding some of the best as Dave Murdick, Kyle Fink and Rex King Jr. crossed the line behind him.

This Saturday will be the final points race of 2019 at Mercer as the track championships will be decided.
