Robert C. “Bob” Schreck, 74, of Rockland, died on Monday, October 7, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Tipton, Missouri on March 15, 1945, to the late Jim and Ruth (Albin) Schreck.

He was a 1963 graduate of Tipton High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Schreck was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Oil City.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching western movies, and cheering for the Pirates, the Cardinals, and the Steelers. He will always be remembered for the nicknames he had bestowed on everyone.

He was employed for 38 years with Franklin Steel, later Franklin Industries.

Bob was married in St. Stephen Church in Oil City on April 30, 1966, to the former Kathleen D. Fike.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; four children: Dianne Marsh and her husband Paul of Seneca, Becky Whitman and her husband John of Rockland, John Schreck and his wife Wendie of Emlenton, and Pam Whitling of Rockland; and his grandchildren: Rob Switzer and wife Jill, Stephanie Master and husband Chad, Allysan Whitman, Victoria Switzer, Ashley Whitman, Kendra Schreck, Kylie Shaffer, Carley Schreck, Malliah Schreck, and Gage Whitling; and his great-grandchildren: Chloe, Kenlee, Xander, Calli, and Westyn. Bob was anxiously awaiting the birth of another great-grandson.

Bob is also survived by his brothers, Bill, Dick, Ron, Arnie, and Larry Schreck; his sisters, Sharon Fulton, Judy Young, Mary Hodler, and Delores Holdren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim and Ruth Schreck, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Rowles; his mother-in-law, LaBrida Fike; and three nephews: Bruce Schreck, Corey Hodler, and Brian Snyder.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Miller, pastor of St. Stephen Catholic Church, presiding; with assistance from Rev. Amy Callander, associate pastor of Park Hill Church of God. The V.E.T.S. Honor Guard will accord full military honors following the service.

Private interment at the convenience of the family will be in Melat Cemetery in Rockland.
